Setting the TW2 Environment
Before you begin, read how you might use TW2:
Student buy-in is key.
- The curriculum works best when students feel ownership, understand why the material is important, and see their voice reflected.
Facilitate differently than a typical lesson.
- TimeWise2 is about leisure and free time, so create an environment that feels different—play music, keep the tone relaxed, and allow for more choice and flexibility.
Incorporate choice and creativity.
- In conjunction with the program materials, for each session consider using stations, hobby or leisure activities, passion projects, or group planning processes to give students agency in how they spend and shape their time.
Set aside space for joy.
- Build in moments at the start or end of sessions for choice-time or ongoing projects that highlight student interests.
